Hey, you!

I'm so glad you're here.

I'm a writer, illustrator, lifelong book lover, and collector of small, ordinary moments that often turn out to be not so ordinary after all.

I've spent much of my life working in the graphic design world, but writing and making art have always been woven into the rest of it. Somewhere along the way, those creative pursuits became two illustrated books: One Hundred Birds Telling One Hundred Little Stories and Letters to Lily.

I love everything about books. The stories they hold, the places they take us, the characters who stay with us long after we've turned the last page. And I especially love the possibility of creating something that might become part of someone else's story.

I'm a mother, daughter, sister, artist, author, and designer. But underneath all those titles is something I've come to understand about myself:

I am a woman who needs to create.

Always Making Something

Most of my ideas begin with a little curiosity. A bird doing something peculiar. A conversation that stays with me. A thought that wanders off in an unexpected direction.

Sometimes those ideas become watercolor paintings or illustrated stories. Other times, they grow into something much bigger.

I'm always writing, sketching, collecting observations, and dreaming up new projects. There are more stories waiting to be told, including a few books currently taking shape in my studio.

And that's one of the things I love most about creating. You never quite know where a small idea might lead.
